Recipe: Homemade Honey Barbecue Sauce
Just in time for the 4th of July — make this quick and easy honey barbecue sauce. Mix a few key ingredients in a saucepan and then simmer it to caramelize and reduce it to deliciousness!
And then slather it on ribs, chicken or even your burgers.
Why make home made?
First, you can develop a flavor that is all yours. You know what it is like when your friends wonder what the delicious sauce is and you can say, “I made it!”
The other reason is that you can control the ingredients. A home made barbecue sauce will have less sugar and sodium than store bought.
The core recipe is below and it is delicious. But if you love a hit of spice — throw in some cayenne pepper. Garlicky? Add garlic powder.
